Vigilant Joins ONVIF - IP open standard organization

Vigilant Technology has become a member of the ONVIF™ (Open Network Video Interface Forum), an open industry forum for the development of a global standard for the interface of network video products. Vigilant Technology joins over 90 other companies in this effort to extend interoperability between different vendor’s products, simplify installation, and provide greater freedom of choice to end users in order to protect and future-proof their investment.

"Our membership in the ONVIF demonstrates Vigilant’s commitment for a true end-to-end OCTV platform through the adoption of open standards for IP-enabled security and surveillance devices," stated Ohad Kleinman, Director of product management for Vigilant Technology.

The ONVIF specification defines a common protocol for the exchange of information between network video devices including automatic device discovery, video streaming and intelligence metadata.
